World AIDS Day – December 1
World AIDS Day, observed each year on December 1, is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and remember those who have died from an HIV-related illness. Started in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first-ever global health day.
Get Involved
This year, CDC is pleased to introduce #MyVoiceMyAction, an initiative highlighting that every voice and every action impacts the global effort to stop the HIV epidemic. Make your voice heard and share others’ stories using the #MyVoiceMyAction World AIDS Day Toolkit. You can also raise awareness of HIV and provide information on stigma, testing, prevention, and treatment using Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign resources.
Let’s Stop HIV Together aims to empower communities, partners, and healthcare providers to promote testing, prevention, and treatment, and reduce HIV stigma. Use campaign resources to help prevent HIV and help people stay healthy. The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign is part of the national Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. initiative.
