Beginning today, Nov 13, through Thursday, Nov 18, we will post a series of videos about poverty and homelessness. Poverty and homelessness have a huge adverse impact on a person’s mental health, and, at times, leading people to suicide. In the “richest country on earth”, why is poverty and homlessness so prevalent? Why are homeless people treated like criminals by local law enforcement? Why, in “the richest country on earth”, is there no concerted effort to eliminate poverty and homelessness? There may be people reading this that are a paycheck away from being homeless. In “the richest country on earth” there is always plenty of money for war and major tax cuts for those that do not need them, but no money for education, healthcare, mental health, to fight poverty and homelessness, and a myriad of other things beneficial to the American people. Why? Think about it. Get involved, the next homeless person may be you. – Editorial Team
